February Window Display Contest - Winners

During Scout week in February, several Scout troops and Cub packs displayed their trophies and souvenirs for all to admire. The best displays were:

Rutherford Pack 168
Park Ridge Pack 345
Maywood Pack 1199
Rutherford Troop 166

Here's some history:
At the first World Jamboree in 1920, Lord Baden-Powell presented the “Scout Cup” to Scotland for having the best display. We honor that tradition, as we celebrate the anniversary of Scouting, by conducting the annual Three Rivers District Window Display Contest.

Recruit this Second Grader!

Isiah Britt of Gainesville Virginia wanted to help the students of Flint Michigan by sending them water. When told by the Eisenhower school that outside clean water was already being supplied, he asked what else he might do. The answer: "Kids are afraid to wash their hands. We can use hand sanitizer."

So Isiah and his mom set up a "GoFundMe" page that raised close to $1,000. He contacted Purell and told them he would pay for a shipment to Flint. Purell responded by donating lots of cases to Flint.

An article about Isiah in the Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/inspired-life/wp/2016/02/12/hundreds-of-kids-in-lead-tainted-flint-dont-need-to-fear-washing-their-hands-thanks-to-one-7-year-old-boy/
