Sharing Merit Badge information announced at District
Meeting yesterday. Keep your MB counselors current.
Merit Badge Counselors are expected to renew every year in
January/February. MB Counselor tenure is one year, at a
time. Failure to renew on time will cause you to be dropped from the MB
counselor list and go through the complete registration process. Please
share with your unit's MB counselors so they can renew. Youth protection
certificate must be provided with renewal and must be valid for the complete
year.
Scoutmasters need to be registered as MB Counselors also in
order to continue to sign for Camping, Cooking, Scout related MBs which
they previously approved. SM position does not grant authority to
approve MB requirements, SMs must follow MB Counselor registration
process.
Go to http://www.nnjbsa.org/openrosters/DocDownload.aspx?id=151289,
complete the Adult Application, MB application, attach your Youth Protection
certificate copy and send to council. Incomplete adult application, MB
Counselor application, or YP certification expiration will cause
application to be rejected until corrective action is taken.
