BSA National just announced the change with Cub packs going first, Boy Scout troops later.

For Cub packs, BSA National gave guidelines with various options. Each local Cub pack will decide for itself which option to work with starting in September 2018.

For Boy Scout troops, BSA National gave very few details. They will make an announcement in 2018 about options for 2019.
